TikTok Famous Doctor Who Filmed Procedures Banned From Performing Surgery

One of TikTok’s most followed cosmetic surgeons has reportedly been banned by Australia’s national health regulator from performing any cosmetic surgery and has been instructed to remove any related posts from his social media.

Dr. Daniel Aronov amassed over 13 million followers on TikTok where he regularly posted viral videos of graphic surgery scenes, health information and facts, and humorous videos on cosmetic surgery featuring popular trends.

In some videos shared to his profile, Dr. Aronov also warned against the dangers of surgeries, including the popular Brazilian Butt Lift.

The Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA) has ordered that Aronov stop performing any cosmetic or surgical procedures. He is able to continue as a primary care physician if overseen by an AHPRA-approved supervisor, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

Other conditions instruct him to remove all published material on cosmetic and surgical procedures from his social media, including his massively popular TikTok account.

The conditions come a month after joint investigation by The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and Four Corners into Dr. Daniel Lanzer’s clinics, sharing allegations of hygiene and safety breaches, alongside troubling procedures that allegedly left patients requiring further medical treatment. Aronov previously worked at the Lanzer’s clinics.

Dr. Lanzer entered a legally enforceable undertaking to stop practicing medicine in Australia, as AHPRA continued to investigate both him and his various clinics.

TikTok star Aronov also came under fire in the aftermath of the investigations, with some of the allegations even focusing on the filming of his TikTok content. A patient told popular Australian show A Current Affair that she was left with pain and a lump in her chin following a facelift procedure, which was shared to his TikTok.

“He’s in the middle of surgery and he is stopping, checking the video, then saying ‘no I don’t want that, cut that out, do it again,'” she said.

Just recently, a Sydney patient of Aronov was reportedly rushed to St Vincent Hospital hours after her tummy tuck surgery.

Plastic surgeon Professor Mark Ashton, who was shown the patient’s vitals on arrival, told ABC it was a miracle she was alive.

Aronov told ABC in a statement: “While all patients are warned of the risks of significant complications multiple times, this does not detract from the distress experienced by this patient and her family,” he said.

“As soon as I was made aware of the patient’s deterioration, without hesitation, I recommended an ambulance be called immediately, and then personally attended to assess the situation and assist the paramedics. I have been liaising with her treating team throughout her recovery.”

Newsweek has contacted the Dr Lanzer Clinic for comment.
