Police Seize $215,000 of Stolen Luxury Goods in Brampton

York Regional Police have just uncovered a massive fashion crime ring in the GTA. After a huge raid last week, police seized more than $215,000 worth of high-end merchandise from brands like Chanel, Dior, Prada, Fendi, among others.

The raid, which took place on Friday in Brampton, was in connection with $2,500 worth of perfume being stolen from a storefront near Hwy. 7 and Kennedy Road in Markham the day before. On top of the perfume, police uncovered a plethora of stolen luxury items, including but not limited to Burberry and Gucci sneakers, mini Lady Dior and Prada purses, Moncler puffer coats, and tons of other high-end bags, clothing, sunglasses, makeup, and coats. Police also seized “a large amount” of cash.

In a see-through attempt to be #relatable, York Regional Police showed off their haul, tweeting “Theft, but make it fashion 🕶”. OK slay, go off material gworls, etc. etc.

Three people have been arrested in connection to the crime. Altogether, the group have been charged with five counts of theft under $5,000, three counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and one count of failing to comply with a court order.

It’s believed that the stolen goods are linked to many other commercial thefts across the GTA. Police are asking that any victims or witnesses come forward by contacting the York Regional Police #5 District Criminal Investigations Bureau or Crime Stoppers.
