ES: My art is loud and massive, unapologetic and unrefined. I generate, to get up place, and represent other individuals like me. I feel that art is far more than a artistic outlet. ES: I really like reading through, producing, camping, and remaining outdoors. Right now I’m having exciting understanding how to enjoy again. I recently acquired roller skates. I loved skating when I was a child, and re-learning it has been a enjoyment way to de-pressure from adulting.

CA: I generally seem to have a dwelling renovation project or strategy to redecorate a thing, which retains me really busy. I also love the outdoors: climbing, kayaking, and taking my 2 puppies up to the mountain trails. Utah is the Best for discovering.

GB: Do you have a preferred project or series that you’ve worked on?

ES: I’m truly very pleased of the artwork shows I have curated. The most recent demonstrate was “The Defeat of Our Blood” which was an exhibit featuring only BIPOC artists. I made a mixed media portray for the demonstrate titled “She Becomes”. The subject matter of the painting is a panther girl and it is my existing preferred.

GB: So, what’s following for each of you?

ES: I am presently performing on a solo exhibit titled “The fireplace in her eyes.” This show as a whole is intended to be a commentary about the ways in which colorism, texturism, and internalized racism in the black local community have been closely motivated by Eurocentric specifications of splendor. Some parts will be visual translations of my lived experiences as a Black female in the United States. Other pieces will spotlight the energy, and sensuality of the black feminine sort even though discovering themes of sexuality, gender expression, and self-acceptance. The show is tentatively set for November 2022. 

CA: I am dying to go even bigger and bolder with photograph shoot staging! I have so quite a few suggestions in my head of what I would adore to do.
